Is a SARS-CoV-2 booster vaccination appropriate?
Covid and the reactive T cells
The number of reactive T cells is higher after immunization but decreases over time.
This process varies for every individual.
That is why it is nearly impossible to make a general statement about the rate at which the cellular immune response is decreased.
It is therefore reasonable to determine the reactive T cells after an immunization and then to monitor them at regular intervals.
Which test can be used to determine the number of reactive T cells?
The ability of the Bioreader® to count reactive T cells using the Elispot technique has been documented in several hundred publications.
The Bioreader® 7000 is able to provide information of the amount of spike-specific and nucleocapsid-specific T cells using T-Spot®.COVID.(1)
The number of SARS-CoV-2 reactive T cells should be a good indication of whether and if yes, when to have another booster vaccination shot.
Various studies are in progress on this. The BIOREADER® 7000 -E therefore makes an effective contribution to the fight against corona.
